Commons, co-ops and corporations: Indonesia’s 21st century land reform.

2018. Keynote Lecture at the Political Ecology Network’s POLLEN Conference, Oslo.

Examines the three "cs" fore-grounded in Indonesia’s contemporary land reform - commons, co-ops, and corporations - and the diverse parties that have mobilized to promote them. It also address three further "cs": capitalism and class differentiation among the people, the crony-corporate cabals that reach into every layer of Indonesian society, and the communists who were massacred in 1965-66 putting an end to land-to-the tiller reform.
